System Tools or Repair How do I unlock my phones?????

Hello everyone. I need help. I purchased two Palm Treo 70wx. They are locked by Alltell. The gentleman did not tell me they were out of commission for a while because he did not pay his bill. Now He has disappeared. I cannot locate him. I have Sprint service and need to know how to Flash as they call it. Someone told me I could unlock the phones from Alltell. Can someone please help me?????

Hello. I just read your post. What do you mean by locked? Keyguard locked, or phone is locked (can't make calls)? Have you tried either a soft or hard reset?

Thanks for replying, I'm not too sure. I called sprint to have the phones added to my account but sprint said that they cannot. I have to have them unlocked by alltell. The phone itself is locked I cant add service to the phones. Cant make calls. I have not tried a hard or soft reset. Do you know how or who can clear these phones for me?

To complete a Soft Reset:
-Remove your battery cover, you should see a small hole next to the actual battery.
-Using your Stylis, push the reset button within that small hole.
-You should see your phone shut down and restart with the TREO logo.

If that doesn't help.....
Completing a Hard Reset might. However, going this route will clear any third pary applications, contacts, calendar events etc. And since you haven't been able to use the system functions, might not cause you that big of a headache.

To complete a Hard Reset (turn the phone off):
-Remove your battery cover
-Using the Stylis, you will need to push in and hold the reset button, at the same time, you will need to press and hold the On Button (has the phone symbol on it).

A message should display on the screen, asking you if you want to proceed with the reset (not sure of the exact words it will ask). Follow the phones prompts to set the time/date and zone. I can't tell you if this is gong to help you unlock your phone from Alltel, but it's worth a shot.
Good Luck, Shannon

The time is worth it if I am able to help someone. I am curious though, did any of the resets fix your locked phone issue?

Hey Shannon, I appreciate the help. I've been trying all day! Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Someone else told me I have to ship the phone to have it unlocked. I need some sort of unlock code. Alltell has the phone locked with their code. The guy simply did not pay his bill. I have sprint. When I called sprint they told me the esn # Belongs to some other carrier and I should contact that carrier to get the unlock code so sprint can take over the esn # Alltell wont do it because the guy owes them alot of money so someone told me I have to go to a lock generating co to override Alltell and free the phone from Alltel once freed, Sprint can and will take the #. Thanks for all your help though it is much appreciated. If there is anyone who knows more about this please reply. I paid alot of money for these two Palm Treo 700wx and I cant use them?
