how to erase call out list?
I have had my Treo700 since 01.05 and after playing with it for days, I finally have it working perfectly with exchange 03 for proactive pushes.
I know how to "clear/delete all calls" but that fails to clear the recently outgoing call list that comes up when you tap the green phone / talk button. The call log is empty but this outgoing call list still remains.
Can this list be deleted and how? No reference to it in the manual.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris, I asked the same question last week. No one at Verizon knows how to do it. I finally got hold of someone at Palm by the name of Taylor. He didn't know and no one else there was aware of a way.
We both agreed there must be some small file in the the Treo's window directory that could be cleared. He was going to send a note to the development team in Florida and also try playing with a spare 700W to see if he could find the file. He took my email address and said he'd get back to me within 2 or 3 days. I'm still waiting but hope is fading each day. If you do find an answer, I'd be interested.

If you could pass that along to my email, it would be much appreciated.
Not being able to erase that list is dangerous!

Thanks man.

There was a similar thread here regarding this very issue. I haven't found a fix yet.

I had thought that it was a bit "dangerous" not to be able to clear that list but then I decided to change my life and not do anything or call anyone that I wouldn't want anyone else to know about.
I feel so much happier and safer...
See, owning a Treo 700w can change your life.

Quick Fix
This would be called a bug. Obviously this is brand new, and messing with it for a while over this issue, I have come to the conclusion that it is with the OS system. Only thing i can suggest is to call lots of other people to get rid of the number your trying to hide.

Any updates on this? I find it real annoying, especially since it shows invalid calls that won't dial because of my fingers hitting the wrong numbers.
Clearing the call log completely won't do it, and there is no setting I can find so I am guessing it's a Microsoft "feature."

I would put this as a palm feature, have you emailed palm support on this?
-
I haven't emailed yet. It may very well be a palm feature since they had to link the call button to do something within Windows Mobile. It is a little smarter than a normal MRU (Most Recently Used) list in windows in that if a number dialed is in your contact list, it has a flyout menu when there are multiple numbers for that contact.

I emailed palm support:
Q: I am trying to clear the recently dialed numbers list that appears when you press the green phone button on the Treo 700w. The phone numbers that apepar are the outbound calls made. The list of recently dialed numbers continues to grow out of control. I have cleared the call history under the phone settings but that does not affect this list. Other than a hard reset which is not a good solution there appears to be no clear way to remove any or all of the numbers that appear. This is a topic of concern from many users and is not address in the Knowlege Base.
A: You are correct that there is not a way to clear the recently dialed numbers from you Palm Treo 700W other than performing a hard reset of the device. Deleting the call logs will not purge the list of dialed numbers displayed when the Phone/Send button is pressed. I will submit your feedback to the appropriate department as a feature request.
Cordially,
Palm Treo700w Support Team
So it is a feature that some idiot somewhere just didn't think we needed added.
