How to stay disconnected from EVDO?

Hiya,

I bought my Treo 700wx 2 days ago and I am having trouble staying disconnected from EVDO network. At night I get the annoying beep that new email arrived and it keeps waking me up. I turned off sound notifications for new mail, but it seemed to keep happening. I tried disconnecting from EVDO network, but it connects automatically.

Is there a way to turn this thing off for good at night and still be able to hear my phone ring?

I don't know for certain, but my guess is that your e-mail account was (or defaulted to a) set up for push mial.

More than likely it is an e-mail account fuction and you will need to address it there.

Hopefully, someone that actually understands this will chime in and shead more light.

I think it has something to do with gmail, but not sure where to look about it

try this. go to ur mail inbox, hit menu, delivery preferences. uncheck the box that says connect and check for messages every. good luck.

You can also turn off your phone (hold in the power button until it says "Goodbye") and then it can not get calls or emails. Also, as noted by lasllc, if you go to the WirelessSync settings then you can set when you want the Push or ReadySync to work (i.e. 8 AM-5 PM, every 30 minutes, etc.).

so i keeps you up all night.well here is what i do i hit the sync on my treo 700w.i wait till it finishes the sync process then i tap the settings.then i check mark the box wich says limit sync to.then on the box next to it i put it on everyday.now ichoose the hours i want for it to accept my emails wich says not before 6:00am and not after 10:00pm those are the hours that i have it active but after 10:00 pm i will not recive anything intil next morning.after ten is my quiet hours.now you set it up for your personel hours i hope im not to late.let me know if it works for you.if you have any other issue just write.i be happy to help. < GOOD LUCK.>

when you go to bed leave your inbox up. You will not get notifications.

i dont think i understand your question.but if you do exactly what i said before you will be able to get your email the next morning.so you can leave your phone on and still be able to get calls.and a good night sleep.so your inbox will be active and acepting all emails.it just wont let you know there coming in intil the hours you have it program to start alerting you wich i belive is 7:00 am in your case.i hope this answers yor question somehow.if not can you be a litle specific ? i will help anyway i can.
