Viewing videos taken with a Treo 700w or 700wx smartphone on a desktop PC
Your Treo 700w or 700wx smartphone includes a digital camcorder that can record video clips. These clips are saved in .3G2 format.
To view these files on your desktop PC:
- Get QuickTime: in order to view .3G2 videos on your desktop PC, you will need to install QuickTime. You can download it from www.apple.com/quicktime/. We recommend that you install the latest version from Apple, but any version greater than 6.5.1 will be able to handle .3G2 files. Previous versions of QuickTime are incompatible and will cease playback after about 90 seconds.
- If you haven't already done so, record a video in the Pictures & Videos application on your smartphone.
- Connect your smartphone to the ActiveSync cable and allow synchronization to complete.
- Open QuickTime on your desktop PC. From the File menu, select Open File.
- Navigate to the desktop on your PC, then open your Treo smartphone's My Documents folder. In there, open My Pictures.
- Locate the video. It will have the extension .3g2. Select the file, then click Open.
- Click the Play button to begin watching the video.
