Lightbulb Internal Storage Space

Hi all

Just thought I would post this here as I had been bugged about the decreasing storage space on my Treo. I had bought a 2Gb storage card which I load new programmes to, and holds photos, music etc, but have been wondering the onboard storage was decreasing and then reached 0mb of storage meaning I could hardly do anything in a hurry on my Treo

Have discovered that going on the internet is part of the problem!

By deleting the contents of IE5 folder I suddenly gained close on 40mb of storage. The file contents were mainly jpeg type files. I have to say I dont do much surfing from my fone at all either but the I had accumulated around 40mb of temp internet files in approx the 6 weeks I've had my Treo.

\Windows\Profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

is the path I have ,s so will regularly go there and delete the files.

Perhaps this will help others before they reach the stage of everything grinding to a halt.

AKG - I use Opera Mini as it allows me to view secure (https) pages as well as has tabbed browsing. Also, this program lets me set the cache so I've set mine to 2MB and this alleviates much of the problems you might encounter. Cheerio!

In the path mentioned above, 3 folders exist; Cookies, History, and Temporary Internet Files. Did you delete the three folders or portions of the 1? - 3? folders. I have just ran a backup, but would like to hear from you before I start deleting files. I'm thinking these 3 folders are created by the Operating System and you deleted everything within the Content.IE5 folder without any problems.

I searched Handango and didn't find this application listed. I do have the search specific to the Palm 700wx. Is it specific to the 700w or I'm I not looking in the right place? Thanks!

I retained the three folders but deleted the subfolders in IE5 along with the cookies I didnt want.
Darren were you able to remove IE or you've just set Opera as your default brower. Are you able to provide More Hours and myself with a suitable link purdy please? Psssst a cheerio is like a saveloy or palony and tastes delicious *grin

Each folder in IE5 seems to contain a desktop.ini file. To begin with I was just deleting the contents of each subfolder (having done a backup) but everything is still working fine so last week has seen me deleting the entire subfolder and no issues (so far - but always able to do a restore if nec).

AKG - Here is the link to Opera Mini.

And I thought you would realize the British connotation of using "Cheerio" as a salutation. They are a breakfast cereal here and are tasty delicious as well.
