personally, i'd never check my bank account over a cell connection...i don't really feel comfortable doing it over wi-fi either :-\

i'm not sure whether or not data transmission via VZW's network is encrypted or not - someone may be able to answer that - other than that, i believe PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer) does support the https protocol...so you've got that going for ya.

I've used Opera MiniBrowser to check my bank account, as it seems to setup the session encryption appropriately. http://www.opera.com/products/mobile.../winmobileppc/

    YMMV.

Security is a huge concern and you're right to be worried about it. For enterprise security you should check out Trust Digital (www.trustdigital.com). I don't know of any good comprehensive security products for the consumer though. Just convince your work to buy mobile devices like the 700w for all your employees and then get the Trust Digital software
