It's a totally different Operating System. You're Kyocera runs the Palm OS (not unlike the Treo 650/600). The new Treo will run the Windows Mobile OS which offers tighter integration with Windows Mobile applications and Outlook. It's debatable which is a better OS - I'm sure camps from both would offer opinions that one is better than the other.

    Default Thanks, but...

Sounds like you know your stuff...so...I think that my main concern is the text entry (graffiti, etc. a la Palm) is that the same on the Treo? And is that different from the 650 to the 700? Thanks again, Al

You would need a third party application such as MobileWrite in order to enter graffiti on the Treo. Not sure about the Windows device just yet. I'm sure there is similar software on the Windows Mobile 5 platform.

    Default Thanks for your help!

I'll keep watching the development of the 700. Hopefully, my Verizon distr/friend will be able to get a tester for me to "own."
    Best to you!

Default Price of Unlocked Treo 650

    Hi,
Just was wondering if the price for Unlocked GSM Treo 650 at $599 is a bit overpriced.Does anybody have an idea if that price would drop further by Thanksgiving or Christmas.
I dont think that device is really worth that price.
Also has anyone found that the keyborad on the Treo to be very small and diffucult to type on...The keys looks like small grains. was wondering how much one will type using those keys.

    Any feedbacks would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I believe it's down to $549 now. I'm not sure if it will go down further.

I have small hands - never had a problem typing on my 650.

My mistake. You are correct. It came down from $649 to $599. Still a pricey item for sure. Wow, that giveaway contest is looking better and better.
