Just got my Treo 700w, and I have one major dissapointment I spent close to an hour tonight at the Verizon Wireless store comparing the Treo 700w to the Verizon XV6700. Even though I preferred the form factor of the 6700 over the Treo, I went with the Treo 700 for one major reason, the 6700 suffered from a creamy/yellowish tint to all of its white colors, a problem I experienced with its predecessor, the Audiovox 6600, which led me to return that device.
The Treo 700 by comparison had clean and crisp whites that had less if any yellowish/creamy tint.
Except when I opened *my* Treo 700, the one I bought, it had yellowish tints to all its whites that were equal if not worse than the store's 6700 demo unit.
So this leads me to ask, what in the &%$* is the problem with these devices. Why are they so inconsistent with this issue? Is it too much to ask for a screen that shows whites as... white and not yellow?
I am very unhappy. Some people might not notice this, but I do. For god's sake, my Samsung cell phone, my PSP, even my Gameboy can show me a white that is white. If a white has to be off, it should err on the side of gray, not creamy yellow. |
