Default Just got Treo 700...few questions

    1) Are there sound profiles? For example a manner mode, or silent mode? Basically an easy way to quickly change the sound profile.

    2) Can you adjust how much the phone vibrates?

    3) When the phone is ringing, is there a way to press a button so the ringing turns off, but the phone is still ringing...just without the sound/vibration?

Just a quick quirk, they need to make some kind of scroll device like the Blackberry, it would make browing e-mails/websites much easier....unless I've missed something

    1) I believe this is possible with 3rd party software, but not by standard means - coming from a BB, I know what you're looking for...and I haven't found a good way to handle it either. I'd love to be able to have a profile for 'Phone Only'..but I guess that's not an option.

    2) Not that I know of - again, maybe with 3rd party software

    3) Yes, press any button on the keyboard (I always use the space bar) and it will silence the ring.

i actually find that the navigation button is much easier on my hands than the scroll wheel was..and i find that between the nav button and the touch screen, the Treo is ahead of the BB in navigation (IMO )

it just occured to me that i forgot to mention that if you want to temporarily turn off email and txt ringers, just turn the volume down on the pda volume and leave the phone volume where you'd like it...it's close to 'phone only'

There's actually a small switch on the top of the phone (700w) that allows you to silence the phone entirely. You can also go into the Sounds-Notifications control panel and choose specific settings for a variety of events, such as New Text Message, New e-mail, Incoming Phone Call (Known Number), etc. In each of those, you can choose whether to play a sound for each event, which sound to play, whether to display a message on the screen and whether to vibrate for both when the switch is on and off. It's handy if you're in a meeting to be able to just flip the switch to silent mode without having to fumble through menus looking for the right settings to change.
