| Interesting. A Palm OS and Mac user using a Windows Mobile Treo. I'm really curious to hear what you think of it.

| Well, it's funny...the CSR said your old phone can make outgoing calls and your new 700w will receive calls -- since I'm porting over my phone #. So, right now, I've got the best of both worlds. Now, I would just need a holster to hold both the 650 and 700. I'm afraid that would weight me down too much. For now, I'm going to pass my 650 to my wife and test drive this 700w. I haven't heard anything from Mark/Space, but I'm going to need some type of Mac solution. Worse case scenario, I'll be installing Virtual PC -- which is not an option I'd like to pursue. Although, that would give me the "true" Windows experience. In some ways, I feel like I took a step to the dark side today. First it was the xBox 360, now the 700w... from a guy who swore he'd never support Micr$oft.

| Looking forward to both initial and long term opinions Chris. Specifically, one handed use, and stability . . . Also, your opinions on strengths and weaknesses of both OS's . .
This should be interesting . . .

| I was reading a review over at http://ptech.wsj.com/ptech.html where the author states:
"And then there's that email bug. If you're using a so-called POP email account, like the ones offered to consumers by EarthLink and many others, the Treo 700w will disconnect from the network after it checks for new email. This means that when the 700w next checks for email -- or when you next try to get on the Net -- you'll have to wait for it to dial into the network again, which is annoying. Microsoft is working on a fix, but it will take months to deploy the patch to users."
Could you possibly prove or disprove this statement. I've been following several early reviewers of the Treo 700w very closely and this is first I've heard of any bugs related to the OS.
Thanks, enjoy the 700! |

| Looking forward to the review..... Waiting to purchase a new Treo 650 or 700 - Palm or PPC. I had a Dell Axim V51 and the new PPC 5 was not stable with many soft resets. I hope the new Treo 700 works with WM 5..... Looking forward to the reviews...... |

| I've been checking out IE and I'm really enjoying web access. EV-DO is real nice. I'm away from my Mac and using the 700w. Much better web experience. I"m not sure yet if I can attribute that to EV-DO, IE or both. I'll post more later. My wife's herniated disc has impeccable timing that resulted in a day in the ER yesterday and surgery this am. Nothing like a hospital visit to test out a new Treo.

| Also looking forward to the review I got my 650 first week of Dec. Had 2 Pocket PC's before that, and use Windows/MS at work and home. I came over to Palm strictly because of all the Treo's capabilities and functionability, and especially all the apps there are out there to support Palm. For years, I've grumbled about how there weren't that many apps supporting PPC's. In addition to what your impressions are, Chris, I'm curious to know what kind of 3rd-party support there will be. I'm on Sprint. The only good thing about that is maybe bugs will be ID'd and fixed and there may be some 3rd-party stuff out there by the time Sprint gets the 700.
