Soft Reset is like a simple "reboot" and you normally won't lose any information or settings. A "Hard" reset wipes your data and settings (it will ask you if this is what you want to do first) and resets the Treo to "factory" new.

You will probably have to do a soft reset from time to time if the Treo gets sluggish or locks up due to a lack of available memory.

Only do a Hard Reset if you're certain that nothing else has fixed a problem that you are encountering.

Tip: Search these forums for a solution before resorting to a Hard Reset.

    Hope this helps.

thank you. i have been searching old post for a while trying to decide which model i was going to get. i chose to go with the 700w. very happy with the purchase. now im just trying to figure out outlook and retrieving email to my device. does anyone recommend and alternative to using outlook for email? i want to be able to get my email without synching to the pc but at the same time not limiting it to just going to the device. am i able to do that?

Yes, go into messaging on the 700> Menu> Tools> New Account... You will have to have your PC's e-mail settings from there, you can set it up to automaticly check your e-mail or manually check it when ever you want to.

    Hope this has helped.
