Actually they did not... it was later found out that the boxes were misprinted and read Bluetooth 1.2, but the handheld (Palmone TX) in reality had Bluetooth 1.1.

Good thing for Some??
In reading through the posts here, I am certainly in the minority so please don't flame me, but I see this as a good thing. I have owned several Palm units including the first ever Handspring Prism with the Phone Module add on. I have been shopping for a Treo 650 and that led me to these forums. Some of my experiences with the Palm OS hasn't always been positive. I can't tell you how many messes I have gotten into on software installs/hard resets/order of software installed, etc. And early on, I can remember several screen failures when the unit was just outside of Warranty. I know that many here love the Palm OS, and I certainly don't hate it, but I would certainly welcome something that was more stable. I don't know if that is necessarily WM5, but I do see this as a great option for many. The famous Treo form factor with an OS that is/should be an extension of my current desktop. Anyway, my 2 cents worth . . . .
Has anyone heard a possible release date for a GSM version of this phone?

The only thing I've heard is late 2006. I've heard Sprint (also CDMA) will get it around May. The same resource indicated that Cingular would get a beefed up version of the 650 around May. Maybe we see a Palm Treo 750 come May on Cingular. That would make a lot of sense...
