I finally got my 700wx in today. It was not easy getting it. I had a 700p for a littel over a month becasue Sprint sent me the wrong phone, so I think that I can do a non-biased review of both phones. Overall, I like the wx more. I feel that it is more of a tool than a phone.
- The today screen is very useful at first glance. It's very customizable for whatever I want to see.
- The phone is much faster than my 700p. The 700p on many programs has some latency after I hit a button. I have read that many other users experienced the same issue.
- For a network administrator like myself, there are more tools available that come pre-installed on the phone (Outlook, Terminal Services Client, IE, etc).
- The look and feel of programs in the phone are musch more comfortable. The phone feels like an extension of my XP PC.
- I don't like the text messaging on the wx. I like the "chat" style text messaging on the 700p.
- In-call functions (conference calling, swapping calls, etc.)are much easier on the 700p. 3 way calling is possible on the 700wx, but a little more work.
- The look of programs in the 700p is a little archaic. It feels "old" The Palm OS needs a serious makeover.
- I like that the 700p has state ID for unknown incoming calls.
Like I said, overall, I like the 700wx more. If I think of anything else I left off, I will add it later. I this helps anyone looking into either of these two phones.
