The built-in email program is, well, I cannot say. I looked around and eventually came upon Flexmail and am now using it with GMail and 2 others email provides - all 3 set with IMAP IDLE/PUSH. With Gmail you really do not delete the mail - you delete it and it is just moved to another folder on the server.

That is why Pocket Outlook is not the answer for anyone with any interest in reliable email. For the tone - maybe it should live in main memory, the My Documents\My Ringtones or My Documents\My Tones folder - depends on which one you have or the application you use looks in. I think the default folder is My Ringtones.

Sure, drop/drag to the appropriate folder installs it.

Are you running this with POP?

POP normally deletes mail from the server when the mail is downloaded. Read this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_Office_Protocol. Look around within the application you are using and see if there is an option to NOT remove checked mail. IMAP is by far the better option.
