Default MMS Picture Message

Okay so I have done a search and found that even though picture messaging seems to be a common problem, I have not found any problems quite like mine. I am primarily only interested in recieving pictures. I will recieve notification that there is a picture message available for download but when I attempt to download the message the phone attempts to connect to Broadband Access by dialing #777 then an error message pops up and says my username and password is wrong but I do not have a username and password set up. Then once I dismiss that and go back into the message it says that there was no service but I am always in service when i try to download. Now, whenever I get a picture it will not download at first, but sometimes like a day later it will miraculously download. Does anyone know what is going on?

I have a similar problem, so if anyone has any help I would appreciate it as well.

With me it was with sending (and maybe w/ receiving but now I do not remember). I was trying to send some pictures to a friend I had uploaded to my phone and it tried to dial for data (multiple times) but I canceled each time. I put my wifi card in so it would at least connect through it and not the dial if needed. At one time, I had found that the data had connected (I dunno when it tried that I didn't stop it) and had been connected for about 5 hours. Luckily since it was running in the background, nothing should have been downloaded to cause any charges.

Who is your carrier? Are you currently subscribing to a data plan through your carrier (internet accessibility)?
2 things........

The #777 sounds like Sprint. If you do have a data plan check your modem connections in the settings menu (connections tab). The user name and password problem could be related to the modem connection if your carrier is Sprint. If that's the case, either update your profile at Sprint.com or update your modem settings. I believe that once you update at Sprint.com, the info should transfer to your phone.
OR
If you are trying to download the pics sent to you from an email account, make sure that you have established an email account on your phone. Using the Messaging program/tab you can set up multiple accounts.

Not sure if that is what is wrong or if it will even help you.

thanks for your help, I know for myself, I have verizon not sprint. I do not have a data plan at this current time, but I do have the unlimited pix/text messaging plan on my phone.

The messages aren't from an email (I don't have email set up on my phone). they are just regular MMS picture messaging just like if I had a phone that wasn't a smart phone.
