Default New to Treo... a current Ipaq 4155/Samsung i600 user

I am considering taking a step into the Treo 700w when it is released. I currently use an HP Ipaq 4155 PDA and a Samsung i600 phone (windows operating system). I have been very pleased overall with the 4155 for calendar and contact info, but have been rather disappointed with the i600.

I got the i600 primarily because of the microsoft OS which is supposed to make integration with Outlook on my PC easier. True? (I have never used a Palm OS device.)

I have been a little frustrated using two devices. It seems that the main advantage of the MS based phone is not having to re-enter my very extensive contact list and allowing for accurate syncing of the two devices.

Is the Treo 700w likely to meet my needs? Exceed them? How is battery life on the Treo series?

Thanks for helping the new guy.

Likely to meet your needs: yes
Battery life: a full day's work and then some quite easily. you should be able to get about 3 days standby if Palm holds to what they have done with all their models.

You honestly sound like a person that VZW/MS/Palm is aiming the 700w for. When it comes into stores, check it out. Dont buy for at least a month after its formal release, this will give you a chance to read reviews and make a solid decsion.

For those who are familiar with both Palm OS and Windows OS, what are the major differences in everyday use? Does Palm mesh well with MS Outlook?

I can give you many insights as to MS Operating Systems... I am looking for some comparison between the two. Help?
