Noob 700wx Question

Hey all I just bought the Treo 700wx and am loving it so far, I just had a question. does anyone know how to set outlook 2002 that came with the treo to automatically move my hotmail emails into the outlook inbox so they can be sync'd to the treo, outlook gets my hotmail emails but I can't sync them.

welcome to ET destovi. I dont have a 700wx I have a 650 . Are you talking about the treo's mobile outlook inbox or the desktop outlook inbox. On the desktop outlook you need to have msn plus in order to get your msn /hotmail to get to your outlook. Its like $20.00 a year. But if there coming into your outlook on the desktop I would think you ought to be able to get them to the treo. with the palm os treos you cannot do hotmail or msn with the versamail app you have to use glimmermail or the clunky msn mobile site, but I would think that WM 5 devices would be able to directly do the sync and not be stuck withe palm os problem!

did a search and found a thread about hotmail and the 700wx and here was a reply

After 1/2 dozen phone calls to Sprint, I can now view attachments on my Treo 700wx. I was trying to view attachments through my hotmail account on the Treo. Sprint said this was not an option through hotmail. I then setup my Sprint Email Address. On the third attempt to set this up, Sprint noticed this account had not been setup on their end. Once they set this up, it worked just fine.

Don't have an MSN account yet? Use your desktop PC browser to visit www.hotmail.com or www.passport.com.
Set up your Pocket MSN account (including Hotmail)

1. Press Start and select Pocket MSN.
2. On the Pocket MSN screen, select MSN Mobile Home.
3. Select Sign In. You may be asked whether you want to proceed; select Yes.
4. Enter your MSN, Microsoft Passport Network or Hotmail email address and password.
5. Scroll down to the options Then select Sign In.

Sign into Pocket MSN (to check Hotmail, MSN Messenger, and more)
Any time you want to log into your Pocket MSN account simply press Start and select Pocket MSN.

hey thanks for the reply and the welcome. What my exact problem is, is I have outlook on my computer desktop, I set it up to download my hotmail emails it does that just fine and I can view my hotmail emails through there if I open the hotmail inbox, what my problem is, is that my treo only downloads the emails that are found in my personal folders inbox, which is not where my hotmail emails go to. What I am trying to do is get my hotmail emails to somehow directly go to my personal folders inbox so that when my treo syncs it will get those also, like if I personally go and move them to my personal folders inbox it is fine, but if thats the case I might as well just read them there, sometimes I dont' have time in the morning to check my email so that is why it would be nice to have them synced to my treo so on the way to school/work I could view them

This is not a direct answer to your question. If I understand your situation correctly, you sync with your personal desktop in the morning to put your Outlook email messages on your Treo 700wx and you want your Hotmail emails to sync in the morning at the same time. This I'm not sure of, but I receive notifications throughout the day when I receive a Hotmail email, which is a lot more flexible that physically syncing with my desktop. Just a thought, but if you have any questions on it, just let me know.
