outlook auto-retrieve?
ok, so i've got two pop accounts set up...bot set to "connect and check for messages every 15 minutes," but i can't seem to get it to actually do that consistently. Is anyone else having similar issues? It's not really a huge deal for me, because i'm in the habit of just sending/receiving manually whenever i've got a second to glance at my phone...like i say, the weirdest part is that it seems to work sometimes, but not consistently....my one theory is that because i'm in a low service area, maybe the data connection just isn't happening like it sould - although 9/10 times i manually connect (via IE for example), it works.....*scratches head

I haven't noticed, but I'll keep an eye on it next time I set to auto-retreive.
Does it attempt to contact at the 15 minute interval?

seems to vary, every now and then i'll catch it connecting, but i haven't watched it close enough to come to a definitive conclusion yet...maybe tomorrow I'll keep a closer eye on that...the other thing is most of the time if i'm not on the phone, i cradle it, so it's connecting through my laptop....
i'll see if i can keep a closer eye on it tomorrow

after paying some attention to it today, here's what i've come up with....the 'check for new messages every 15 minutes' only works when you leave the 'Messaging' application open - so if you have 2 email address set up using POP access, and you leave 'Messaging' open (i.e. doesn't have to be on the screen, just so you didn't stop it to free up memory) to your first email account, only this account will be checked for new mail every 15 minutes....it also means that if you leave 'Messaging' open to your text messages, neither email account will check for new messages at the preset interval...
i'm not saying i'm 100% correct on this, but this is what it appears to be based on observing it this afternoon...this seems like a bad way of handling emails all the way around...i'm trying not to use Verizon's Wireless Sync, since last time that messed up my Active Sync.....soooooooooo if anyone can chime in here with ideas, that would be excellent

2-POP Accounts
My lone POP auto check works great.
Reading the original post my thought was "both trying at the same time would cause conflicts"
If one tries and the other then tries, it may get confused. I know my OUTLOOK auto-staggers them; if I try a manual Send/Receive while a differsnt account is trying, it won't work.
Try setting different times for each. Recommend 11 & 13 or 13 & 17 minutes (prime numbers will coincide very seldom).
Just a thought

Me too
I cannot put my finger on it, but very annoying.
Hardly get a new email unless I manually send/receive. I have everything set right, but for some reason it does not work.
Not sure if I am allowed...but... http://mytreo.net/forum/index.php?topic=28402.0 is talking about the same thing.
What are we to do?
