the method that i will describe uses the serial cable to connect to the palm.
the palm can be from any provider (sprint, alltel, verizon, etc)
1st, discovering the MSL number when you do not have it:

1-put the phone in DIAG mode: ##3424#
2- BITPIM (free to download from the net)
this guy (http://php.chol.com/~mines/photo/028/) found his MSL here "/nvm/nvm/nvm_0002"
im my case i found it here: "/nvm/nvm/nvm_security"

2nd. in case you need a change in the ESN (remember is ilegal, just for testing purpouses). what could be done (but still would be not legal), is to test using a ESN that you already have on METROPCS network (from an old phone) remember to put back the original ESN because is ilegal. (some phones they have a MEID, is a pseudo ESN, you can convert it google it)
.....on the file: /nvm/$SYS.ESN is the ESN of your treo 700wx.
you can donwload it and with ultraedit (in hexa) read and change the ESN
has two parts starting on position 55h (ESN-HEXA) (VERIF-CODE)
and it goes in inverted position:

if you want an esn of AA BB CC DD
the checksum would be 34 E7 25 D1
you can use "esnchksm.exe", and in you case it would go from position 55h to position 5ch as: "DD CC BB AA D1 25 E7 34"

write the file back to the phone (can be done with QPST --> efs explorer to do this) , then reboot your phone (take battery out)


3rd- place your phone in DIAG again and with QPST --->service programing:

prefferred mode / band / roaming you can leave it automatic

load the latest evdo prl from http://corolada.com/prl/

mobile ip behavior: mob + simp f/back ( a lot of people recommends simple ip, but i could not find the difference)

be sure in user profile is you phone user id: yourtendigitsmetropcsphone@mymetropcs.com




for configuring in the phone the access to de data there are a lot of forums about hot to put wap.metropcs.net:3128.... look for that...

now you can test data + phone+ email + text mesgs, on your treo 700wx
