700W and 700P?
Yup - sure sounds like the Bill Gates Palm will be out. Well it will suck - smaller screen, not touch screen and if it crashes as much as my XP Pro box at home, well....
With luck they'll also announce a 700P

So far it looks like Verison is the only carrier that is supporting it. I'm sure there will be an unlocked 700 available, but you never know when Microsoft is part of the deal.
I personally am not very interested in it. I bought my 600 for PalmOS. If I wanted a phone that ran Windows Mobile, I would have purchased an HP.

The new Treo (which has not yet been officially named, even though the pictures that have been posted on the web show it to be called the 700w), will be Verizon-exclusive until at least the middle of 2006. Part of this is probably due to the contract with Verizon, and part of it is probably due to the slow roll out of Sprint's EVDO network. Ed Colligan (Palm CEO) indicated that there will "definitely" be a GSM version in the future, but don't expect that until late next year.

It was inevitable!
Palm OS just doesn't have enough hype anymore. Something had to happen!
