PDAMill Gamebox Gems and Gamebox Classics Issues I have a new Treo 700w that I have updated to firmware v1.10. I have been trying to run my two favorite games but they have serious issues:
Gamebox Classics (v3.2): from the start of the menu screen to the in-game graphics, only the upper two thirds of the screen is used. It looks like the visuals are "squeezed" into the upper part of the screen. Unfortunately, all stylus action reacts as if the graphics were "unsqueezed". For example, to hit the left and right arrows to select the games, you have to touch the stylus to the very bottom of the screen (which is all black space as everything looks to be crushed into the top 2/3) at the horizontal and vertical position where the arrows would normally be. Other than that this game seems to function, it's just a very odd (and nasty) graphical glitch.
Gamebox Gems (doesn't show the version on the splash screen, but it is the file from Dec '05 that is still up on the PDAMill downloads section): This one seems to display the screen normally (no black space on screen), but all stylus points are lower than the on-screen graphics. The only part I can get to is the "ENTER YOUR NAME" screen. Here, all stylus clicks register as taps above (to verying degrees) what you are trying to tap. For example, hitting "A" does nothing, but hitting "H" enters an A.Hitting the blank space at the very bottom of the screen enters a V. Unfortunately, because the "OK" button is at the very bottom of the screen, it is impossible to hit because tapping it only registers an underscore or a backspace. There appears to be no way to proceed from this screen, and hitting the hardware OK button does not work. I have to actually reset the Treo, and can't even get into the game because of the Name screen.
Both of these games claim to support 240x240 screens.
Can anyone help me? Has anyone gotten these games to work on the Treo? This is very frustrating...
