Default Power up from Flight mode

It seems that when I put the phone on flight mode and am on a plane for a hour or longer, then try to turn the phone on, the screen will not turn on. As soon as I pull the battery it resets and works fine. Any fix for this?

Also - how do i power up using any key?

I, too, encountered this problem. For me, the problem was that I had several applications running, so I guess there was insufficient memory to permit a restart (wake up). This is an inconvenience, as I take several flights every week.

For me, all I do is shut down (close) all applications at the same time, I turn on flight mode. If I use the applications during flight, I then make sure that all applications arfe shut down (closed).

I close the applications by holding the 'OK' button for a couple of seconds. This brings up the running program list. Here you can close any or all running applications. I know that some folks use the freeware program 'Magic Button' as it simplifies the process.

I power up by pressing and holding the key with the red phone on it.

BYW: Rather than remove and replace the battery, you might just try a soft reset by pressing the reset button with the stylus.

I hope this information is helpful to you and others.

Bob

This may sound like a silly question but . . .

What is flight mode and is it already installed on the treo650?

Hello HulaGirl,

This is Kevin from Palm. Not silly. Flight mode is the state in which the phone part of the device is turned completely off, but the PDA side is still accessable for use. On the Treo 650, pressing and holding the red phone button until you hear the descending tones (or ascending, if you're turning the phone back on) accomplishes the same thing.

Sincerely
Kevin

Thanks guys for the info. I knew how to access the apps without having the phone on but I didn't know it was called Flight Mode. I've heard of Flight Mode since I'm a flight attendant. At least I understand it now. Thanks!
