Problems with Update and Just In General

Wow.....for such a great tool, this this is so frustrating.

Instead of posting several different threads, here are my issues....maybe some can help:

1. Since the update, I will occassionally (2-3 times p/day) get a call and when I hit ANSWER, it simply hangs up.

2. Since the update, when I wake up the Treo I get a full white screen or (more often) the bottom bar is fully white.....where it would normally give the massage about "Press Center Button to Unlock". This stays white for about 5-10 seconds, requiring me to wait until it is ready. This began immediately after the update.

3. Before and after the update, daily 'maintenance' restarts are required to avoid lock ups.

4. I have yet to find ANY software or add-on that is worth keeping. The ones that provide great functionality seem to increase the need for reboot due to the crappy memory management.

5. Before the update and once or twice since: Phone is ringing, I can hit answer as hard and as many times as I want....will not answer.

6. Finally, does anyone know how you can lock the ring volume at HIGH (or wherever you like it)? I miss alot of calls because the side button turned down my volume and silenced the ringer while in my pocket.



This is such an odd tool in my mind. I work in IT and Im pretty darn 'savvy'. I would HATE to be an IT manager in a department that handed these out....you'd be doubling your workload in troubleshooting.

1) there seems to be issues in general with answering calls with the 700

2) i had that for a while, then i disabled the password and it worked normally again...it seems to take a second to try to figure out if it's supposed to be prompting you for the password or not - and in the mean time, you get a white screen

3) i'll say that after the update, i haven't had to do these nearly as often - although it's definitely still necessary every couple days.

4) sprite backup, pdanet, and siriusCE are about the only ones i keep on my phone - although i'm doing a write-up on code wallet pro and must say that so far i'm quite impressed by it!

5) yes, this is an issue that's plagued this phone from day one - although the number of times this happens has been greatly reduced since the update. my biggest problem is getting calls and not being able to hear the other person.

6) put the keyguard on before you place it in your pocket...and also make sure you've got the settings to vibrate when the ringer is on...it may not be ideal, but it beats missing calls.
