program storage
is the goal to get a sd card and store every program on the card? what do most people do when they purchase a several different software programs. i read stuff that says store your main programs on the phone, but some say keep everything on the card in case you need to do a hard reset and you wont have to purchase the software again. is there any wrong way to go?
thanks for any advise.

When you sync your Treo, the programs should back up to your PC. So, if you have to hard reset, they usually install back to the Treo. I'd suggest writing your registration #'s. In a worse case scenario, you just have to resintall your apps -- and enter your reg code. With the Palm Treo 650, all of these get backed up. I'm guessing ActiveSync does the same job.

On my Treo 650, I have some programs on the Treo and some on the card. I haven't loaded many programs on my Treo 700w due to the lack of a Mac compatible ActiveSync solution (which is about to change
).

ActiveSync doesn't backup the Treo's applications, only the data (Calendar/Contacts, and any other "conduits" that a program might use. So, if you hard reset, it's just like formatting your PC, you'll have to reinstall applications.
