Default Push email on 700w?

There has been a fix for push email on the 700w's, right?

Is it also on the 700p?

Thanks!

push email only works with an Exchange server (2003 SP2 I believe). POP3 accounts will be polled as often as you set it to check them. This is the same on the BlackBerry except BB's use a BBExchange Server. I also remember that Yahoo was the first major company to offer BB push email - but when I was using it, it wasn't all that reliable.

If you're looking for a hosted Exchange solution, check out: http://www.4smartphone.net

I'm using them, and it works very well.

Hope this helps...

Well, here's my deal (sorry, I should have mentioned this in my first post):

I have the BB 7130e, and would like to get the 700w (or 700p if it suits me). I use the push email feature purely for personal use (not for work). I was just wondering if the push email feature that is offered on the 700's is similar to that of the BB's.

I thank you for your guidance...

yes, it's very similar. i found that the bb was slightly quicker on delivering the email to the phone than the push with the 700w, but we're talking about 5-15 seconds longer...so that's really not an issue. but yes, the experience is about the same - also, if you're just using it for personal use and don't really need the push, you can set your phone to poll for your email at your pop account every __ minutes.

side note - i had the bb 7100t (as well as the 7230) and i'd say i wouldn't go back...the full keyboard is a must for me. i hated that predictive text on the bb...my opinion

hope this helps some!

I also use 4Smartphone.net service for hosted exchange server. Since I have a MAC I cannot use AS to move my contacts, email etc (I do have a windows box, only for installed the apps so I can get the .cab file).

A few benefits of 4Smartphone especially for personal use. If you hard reset or otherwise lose you data. Just setup the server connection and d/l your contacts, email, calender etc. I have my personal email account set to forward to my 4smartphone account. This includes the alias accunts on that main account so all of my mail goes to 4smartphone and onto my device. Plenty fast and easy to use. Best of all for MAC users it works with Entourage and Windows users have Outlook.
