question about using alarms

I recently got a treo 700w from a friend to try it out and was wondering is there a way to silence the ringer but still use the alarm as a travel clock?

You should be able to select or create a "silent" ringer and assign that for your phone calls and then assign a noise one for the travel clock. You have a system noise level and a ringer noise level - have you played with these settings? I have not played with a 700W(X) in just short of 2 years.
