Question Regarding VeriChat

This may be a dumb question but the description of Verichat says "VeriChat For PPC works with your persistent (GPRS/CDMA 1xRTT) or CSD wireless data connection to give you ...". Does that mean that it uses the data connection (EVDO) or is it using the phone's SMS capabilities?

Does anyone have any experience with VeriChat on the 700w?

No experience with it yet, but there's a link on the home page for "Treo 700w" so I'm assuming that they've tested it.
