On the 700wx you can set an MP3 file as a ringtone without any converting. However, you may want to use an audio editor (such as GoldWave) to trim the MP3 file down to 30 seconds or so.

Also, you might try www.myxer.com. You can create a free account and search for ringtones. Most of them are already trimmed and will take up less space than a normal MP3.

I get them to the phone through Active Sync. Once on the phone I move them to a 4 gig card for storage. Pretty easy actually.

Default ringtones

I use a site called funformobile. Go there & search for a certain ringtone. I created folder called "ringtones" & d/l them into there & storage card. then I go to sounds and notifications on my settings & press "manage" then "add" then select a ringtone from the folder then go to contacts and select a ringtone for different contacts. I know that's quite a bit but it's easier than it sounds

I don't see how to do that. I loaded a few mp3's onto my memory card, but when I go to make them ringtones, they do not show up in the list - only the verizon ones are there.

Any help here would be appreciated.

MP3s need to be stored in My Device/Appliction Data/Sounds. Then they can be used as ringtones.

Also, Phonezoo.com is a great place to get ringtones and screen savers.
