You have to use a ringtone program.. I use musictones... others use minitones... I'm not sure of any differance... I think you can get mini tones free here. You have to have the song on the sd card.. then use the program to crop the song down to the proper length... I keep it at about 30 seconds. Then the program will put it with the other ringtones. Some say to use a program to keep the ringtones on the card, however, the amount of space they use is small.. I keep all applications that will run on the card, there for that reason. I still have 3/4 of my ram available...

I use Audacity. It's a free program you can download that lets you easily trim down any mp3 that you have. Once they're trimmed, they're very small. Before I found Audacity, most of my memory was used up with full length songs, Now I have so much that I don't know what to do with it all. You can also get custom ringtones from phoezoo.com
