Setting up pop3 mail-setting it to leave mail on server
Hello all-
I used to have this phone, and was able to do the above, but no longer have this phone or access to it. However I have a client with this phone and need to help them set it up remotely.
I gave them directions via my windows 6.1 device, but it was not similar, so I was hoping someone here could give me the series of events one needs to do this.
There is an existing and working pop3 email address on the phone. I want to access the options, and either make sure or change the settings to leave all received mail on the server after they get downloaded onto the phone.
Any help is appreciated.

Normally there are settings within the application and/or web site for checking and leaving mail on the site when checked, as POP is normally intended to download the email and subsequently delete it from the site. GMail provides POP and leaves it on the server and also IMAP, which really is a better solution, as the mail is deleted only when you tell it to get deleted, either from the mobile client, desktop or web site.

A bit further on this - the email client - the built in client with WM leaves a lot to be desired. I eventually ended up with FlexMail and am satisfied with its operation.

Well we prefer pop3 setup. ITs actually an easy thing to set up, just set your outlook to leave a copy on the server for 10days then delete once they've been accessed. Then you set the phone to retrieve the email and do not delete. So both devices has a chance to access the emails. The time length they stay on the server is variable.
I just don't remember where the setting is on the treo, only on my 6.1 diamond.

Ok, but regardless of whether POP or IMAP, Pocket Outlook has serious issues. FlexMail does POP and IMAP and you are not stuck with a middle guy in the loop, as you are the way you describe it.
