    Default Sprint e-mail

I have a 700wx and Sprint. I've always used my charter.net email on my Treo using the outgoing server as smtp.sprintpcs.com. Today I couldn't send any emails. Sprint confirmed today that they will no longer have an email server. The mentioned setting up a gmail account and using that as the outgoing server. I did this, it let me send 1 email, then it wouldn't work anymore.

    Does anyone have a fix/suggestion???

    Thanks!

List the settings you are using. Also, GMail does take a bit of time to negotiate. Look at your security settings...

I may be wrong but......although Sprint is getting rid of their e-mail I think they are keeping the outgoing smtp server (double check check the Sprint site). I just sent myself an e-mail from my work account to my home account using the sprint pcs smtp and it went through fine.

Could be - I have not bothered with Sprint's email servers in 5 years due to problems early on. Frankly I believe it is better to stick with one system for everything in stead of one for this, one for that. When something happens, one place to stop and shop is better than 2 or more.

I agree but for some reason I can't use my work's outgoing server so I rely on the Sprint one. Haven't had any problems since setting it up but I probably just got lucky.
