Desktop software Sprint giving the Boot

On June 29, 2007, Sprint decided to give the boot to their most troublesome customers. These are people that call for support so much, they presumably cost Sprint more money than they get in subscription fees.
Then, in a classic move, Sprint told these unlucky customers that it's not them, it's Sprint.
"While we have worked to resolve your issues and questions to the best of our ability, the number of inquiries you have made to us during this time has led us to determine that we are unable to meet your current wireless needs."

Sprint has given these customers until July 30 to find a new provider and sign up with them if they want to keep their number. This is a perfect opportunity for these people to pick up a shiny, new iPhone. Good timing, Sprint.
Sprint claims that the number of customers that were cut loose is low and that it only hit a "small minority" of their subscribers. In the first quarter of 2007, Sprint lost about 220,000 subscribers just by being themselves. Now they are actively pushing people out the door.
These ex-subscribers will not have to pay an early cancellation fees and their balances will be set to $0 so they are free of Sprint for good. TheFeed feels bad for these subscribers because honestly, does anyone ever expect to be dumped by their wireless service provider.

I believe it was just one person - news to me that it is now more than one.

Frankly, if Sprint is unable to satisfy a customer, why should it continue trying? Cutting them off means the customer no longer has to deal with Sprint and it cost them nothing! no early termination fees, et cetera. Not a bad idea. I wish Nextel would do that for me. Nextel bites.
