I'm also having the same problem...I can receive texts from any carrier but I can only text sprint and cingular customers and this has been goin on since the beggining of October. I will b glad when its fixed but until then sprint is goin to credit my bill for that they said.
my sister has the tmobile blackberry, and everytime i try to reply to her text messages, she tells me she just gets a bunch of symbols. and a friend with a sprint PCS vision says he recieves a pop up stating that i am trying to send him a download...
I just bought my Treo 700wx from Sprint this week. I am having problems sending text messages to anyone outside the Sprint/Nextel network...have any of you had any luck getting further information from Sprint? This is driving me nuts!
Durso, thanks for that link. It gave me a lot more info. However, one of the posts said that the problem is only affecting the Treo...not true. My wife has a regular cell from Sprint (Samsung A920) and it is unable to send text messages to Verizon....so it leads me to believe the problem is at least partially Sprints.
I guess I'm not alone in my frustration. I just bought this Treo and previous to that I had a Toshiba VM4050 with Sprint that had NO problems whatsoever with sms...which I depend on to communicate with so many of my contacts! I feel like instead of an upgrade I got a downgrade...but I love the Treo anyway and have been using it for various useful and nifty things...still, sms is basic and I say we need to give Sprint a piece of our minds. I have called them numerous times and got very mixed messages - some technicians said there was no outage and that I should return my phone...others acknowledged the problem and said they have no idea when it'll be solved. So if anyone gets a clear answer about this I would love to hear what it is! dBelle
