ssl issue with windows mobile?

Hi all, I haven't been able to set up my work email on my 700wx. Apparently after hours of time spent on the phone with the tech reps from Telus, the head guy finally figured out that the pocket pc platform is automatically checking for an SSL connection even though it is not checked off in the settings. He claims this is a problem with the OS as he also checked it using a Moto Q phone and ended up with the same results. He did try with a 700P and had no issue with my email. My question is has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there some kind of fix for it as of yet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is your email through the web? If so then you can use Opera as that handles secure (https) pages and maybe the SSL is similar for you. If it is doing a sync then it might be a different issue.
