Default Streaming media w/ Orb

has anyone else tried to stream media with products from orb.com? If so were you successful?

My phone connects back to my home server, but it wont maintain a connection?

Anyone else?

Default Problem FIXED!

Ok, I absolutely love this phone. I can stream all my TV shows, music videos, all my audio tracks, and my pictures! It just works, the video is so watchable, and audio is great. man, as these wireless technologies progess, the video quality will be superb. I'm already satisfied w/ what it does now. I just streamed half of the mischief 3000 gumball run to my cell phone! Its just crazy. goodnight, I'm tired!

Can you explain in detail how this works? Does the video have to be compressed down to a watchable state to stream on the Treo? Or do you upload the video in full form and it'll still stream?

orb converts the file to whatever bandwidth is available on the device receiving the stream. Basically, orb tests the upload speed of my home pc, and the download speed of my treo. Then, it decides whats the best bitrate to use. I mean the videos are blocky, but not bad at all, still fluid movement and very viewable. I'll take a shot w/ my digi cam and let ya know.

MystaMax,

Thanks for the info on Orb Networks. I had never hear of it. I down loaded and in working in no time. My pc shows up of 384 and down of 4300. The Treo shows up 391 and down 402. The feed will start at 202 on Treo. The I get a pause in video and it starting rebuffering, the speed drops to 44 or 66. I can stop and restart the feed and goes back to 202. I do this in my home and I only have 1 bar signal strength.

Do you get any pauses in your feed? What signal strength do you have?

I have experienced choppyness when playing videos and only had one bar, but if I have full strength in signal no problems. This may sound stupid, but @ the moment I have no radio in my car, so I stream my playlist for about a 15 miles ride, no HICCUPS, just streaming audio. so sweet. Plus, the speaker isn't bad at all. I'm glad you got it workin. Now I know that someone else out there is enjoying this!
