Instead of doing a hard reset, why not try uninstalling and then reinstalling Active Sync on your desktop?

Default hi silkytofu

I tried that too, I updated activesync, I tried soft reset, I tried turning phone on and off. When this happens and i goto activesync on my treo, it's like when you first get the phone and the first time you sync it has instructions. It does not show the last time you sync like it's suppose too. Thank you for responding.

Try running the USBSWITCH program in the /Windows directory. This changes the connection for AS from RNDIS, which is a pseudo-network, to USB-SERIAL. Many firewalls, both corporate and personal, have problems with RNDIS. I did this and my AS problems disappeared.

When you tap the wirelesssync ico, hit menu and tap the Active Sync setup, do you have it enabled, diabled, ask each time. I think if you have ask each time (I think) it'll ask you each time you try to active sync as if it's your first time. So - what you may be experiencing in that regard may not be an error.

However - the other stuff you are experiencing does appear to be something wrong. Try the suggestion of the other poster - I had not heard about USBSwitch before....hopefully it'll solve your problems.

...let us know.

Default Still not working, right now my treo will not sync

activesync starts, then i get a window saying to reconnect device, or use activesync help. I don't want to have to do a hard restart, and lose everyting again. Has this happened to anyone?

Sometimes I get similar errors. In fact I had an error a few nights ago.

This is what I did:

1. Uninstall Active synch on your computer.
2. Reinstall Actiive synch, but make sure that your sync cable is not connected to the computer.
3. When Active sync is installed on your computer, THEN plug the sync cable in, and put your phone in the charging cradle (if you're using one).

Sometimes I get an error in the installation that says that my outlook express needs to be set up as the default email. Once I do that, the error message goes away.

So far it's working okay.

Also - I use a wireless infrared mouse with my PC. Sometimes I find that if the infrared doggle and the sync cable are plugged in right next to each other, the mouse and or sync starts to act goofy. Now I plug the mouse doggle in the front usb port, and I plug the sync cable in the rear one.

Lastly, (I know this is going to sound silly) make sure the sync cable is securely and fully plugged into the usb port. Sometimes I've gotten errors where it appears to connect and then disconnect because I didn't have the cable pushed all the way in.
