Question Time Pauses in Phone Numbers

I have a 700w and I am trying to figure out how to add a "time pause" to a phone number. On my old cell phone I was able to program in a "time pause" that would allow the call to be connected before it automatically dialed the pound sign and my pin #. Can anyone shed some light on how I would go about doing something similar with the Treo 700w? Thanks for you input!

Welcome to ET. Have you looked in the user manual to see if they have anything about it there? How did you do it on your phone? Have you tried that on your treo? maybe a comma and then a space or two in the string. Just a semi educated guess.

The only way I have gotten around this is to set it as a Speed Dial item and then you can hit the Advanced tab and add some options. A bit of a glitch if you ask me (my previous phone allowed any number in the Phonebook to have these options). The positives still outweigh the negatives though so it is just one of minor items.

as I found on another forum the way you create a "time pause" is to use commas... so when you put the number in it will be like this
(555)555-5555,,5555
to put the commas in you must use notes type in a comma copy and then paste it into the number... works for me calling my work land line main number put two commas for a pause and the the extension

Excellent tip and an obvious "undocumented feature" of the phone. Now of course I get to go back through and un-SpeedDial a handful of numbers and use this new workaround. Many thanks.

Default Add the letter p for pauses

I added the letter p for pauses in numbers and it works great for me. You will need to experiment to see how many you need. I can't remember how much time is associated with one p

Wow. You people Rock! Thanks for all your input. I think that the advanced speed dial will work for me. I only need it for checking my voicemails. Thanks again!

I attempted the p in the number too and the phone never dialed the number for me... so it looks like there are two ways to add a pause to the number. Wonder what would differentiate the two...
