Question Tom Tom Navigator 5 - What's the latest

I have read the review of TTN5 on the Treo 650. I wanted to know how it works on the 700w. Is it just the same or have there been changes that would be worth talking about?

It looks as if there is an update to support Windows Mobile 5. This taken from TomTom's website:

TomTom NAVIGATOR is now compatible with Microsoft Windows™ MOBILE 5.0 devices. See the compatibility list for more information.

    FYI:
Compatibilty list by TomTom means, that if a phone is not listed, it means it hasn't been tested yet on compatibility for your device.

If you ask my opinion: windows mobile 5 combined with TomTom Navigator 5 (with update) should work. But then again, there could be some hardware/processor/and other things which could give some sleepless nights..........

e.g. A Qtek 9100, works perfect with TomTom Navigator 5, with an update of the application (for usage on windows mobile 5 devices). But a Qtek 9000 (also a windows mobile 5 device) works fine as well, but the sound-function of TomTom is not working for this device....

    Tip:
What you could do in this case is to register on the website of TomTom; create an account an register for a newsletter for TomTom Navigator. When there are any news, you will receive it via mail..............

There will be updates and upgrades later on this year, but not sure how and what....It's a software company, which has to cope with the changes in the market

There's no harm trying the software on the Palm 700W. Best thing is to ask retailler/reseller of this combination, who have been selling this combination...how it works in practise.....if you can't wait for compatibility listings by TomTom

    Good luck

TomTom does work. BUT! IT TAKE A LONG LONG LONG ( about 30 / 45 secs ) to load up. I dont know if that its my SD Card ( 1gig ) or what. I know you have to go threw some trial and error with the updates and what not but it did not take me over an hr. AFter you get it all done its VERY nice

Lil0ne - I was able to install Navigator last night, and it seems to be working; however, the application only displays on the upper 2/3rd's of the screen, with the lower third being white/blank. Also, when I try to tap on any buttons on the screen with the stylus, I have to tap about an inch below the target (as if the screen is out of calibration - even though it is not).

    I followed the guidelines here:

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

After closer examination, I was able to determine that the 5.2x update did not take... after reapplying it, all seems well now ...
