Question Touch screen is totally dead

After putting on a new screen protector my touch screen won't work at all, not even outside of a call. Trouble is I changed my "Start" hardware button to run the "Notes" app because I just touch the Start icon to access those menu items. All other features of the phone work as normal. Now I can't get into Start to verify Settings. Soft reset fixes nothing. Any ideas, before a hard reset. I also took the screen protector off and tried without it.

    Default Hmm

    Try this...
    Install PHM RegEdit
After installing use activesync to explore your Treo
    go to \Program Files\PHM Tools
there you will find regedit, right click and create shortcut. You can rename the shortcut if you desire.
right click and copy the shortcut your just created
    browse to \Windows\StartUp
paste the shortcut there and do a soft reset
when your Treo comes back up it should start PHM RegEdit, in regedit browse to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys
tap on DEFAULT and then delete what is in the VALUE DATA
tap on Flags and change the value from 0 to 1
    close PHM Regedit
    now press your START button!
