Default Treo 700 power on button...not!!!

I just purchased the Treo 700w and returned it 12 days later, after the phone refused to power on when I hit the red button. It was intermittent and I had to open the back and take the battery out and reinstall it for the phone to work. Yesterday, I went to the Verizon store and received a brand new phone. I took it home and charged it up. This afternoon I went to use the phone and the red button/on button did not turn the phone on. I took the battery out and replaced it. It worked. I can't be the only person with this problem. Help!

Thanks

Jack

Search this forum for this problem, I think it relates to ActiveSync.
Also, you might try going to Palm.com and applying the software update, I think that helps with the issue.

Default Palm Knowledge Library

This appears to be the issue;

I wonder if they are going to fix this issue.

Default SD Card

I took the SD card out and I have not had the problem again. Does anyone know what cards are compatible?

Default power problem, etc.

I've experienced the same power button problems. In addition, my phone will just stop ringing. All other sounds work properly, but no ringtone. Only solution is full hard reset. This has happened 3 times in a month. I really wish I'd gone with the samsung i730. I've read great things about it. Though of course, until we try them, we don't know. And 15 days isn't long enough.

What about service areas? My signal isn't nearly as good as it was with my verizon motorola phone. I expected to lose some signal, but not for it to get this bad.

I hope they come out with a fix soon...

I have been using both SanDisk 2GB and a Lexar 1GB that I have, both work fine. I also formatted my cards on my windows desktop (hold over until I get an Intel Macbook Pro) and I also format them with Pocket Mechanic.

I was having a similar issue, although it may be the same one in disguise. When I had my phone on the cradle, it would go dark and not wake up but....what i discovered is that it wasn't actually off, the screen was just set to the lowest brightness setting; which might as well be off. I had to hold a flashlight to the screen so that i could see it (barely), and then I could navigate to the brightness setting and turn it back up. It would go back dim within a few minutes but at least I found out what was happening. I later discovered that there is a brightness key on the keypad (option + P) which takes you right to the screen. I'm not sure if this is related to the problems that you all are having but my keyboard was lit up and my screen was dark just the same. This doesn't fix the problem, but it saved me a bunch of soft restarts.
