    Default Treo 700 Rumors

Ok..there it is. I started it. They've been floating around the web and might as well get them started here at Everything Treo.

What would you like to see in the Treo 700? Will it even be called a Treo 700?

How about a built in hard drive ala the LifeDrive? Satellite radio capabilities using Sirius or XM Radio? It'd be nice to have all MLB games right on my Treo.

So, when the next gen Treo does ('cause it will) sport an internal HD, I would very much love to see it record uncompressed (44/16) stereo audio (thus requiring, at least, a stereo mini INput).

I'm a musician and record a lot of live audio and it would just be über sweet to take only my Treo and some mics to a gig as opposed to an iBook (or DAT recorder) and said mics. I realize I may be the ONLY poster here that would request something like this. But, well, isn't that the purpose of such a thread? ;)

I would also like to see landscape mode supported. Like when you rotate future Treo to a landscape aspect, the contents of screen switch over to landscape mode.

    Better camera WITH flash.

What about supporting video chatting? Seems this is inevitable. Yes?

I think Palm OS could use a face-lift. Better GUI.

    WiFi?

    Thinner?

Landscape mode would be great. How about some type of add-on to allow downloading of images to the Treo from your digital camera. I wouldn't mind taking my E-1 pictures down to my Treo for a quick viewing or slideshow. While I'm at it, how about a iPod-esque application that allows for transitions, slide shows with music from my MP3 collection.

    Better camera WITH flash.
Never been a big fan of camera convergence to phones. I like the camera phone (and use it on my Treo on occassion), but not for my important shots. I use it as an extra means of communication. For example, during a trip to Ikea, I took a picture of chair to send to my wife. We never bought the chair, but it saved us a trip back to Ikea.

They've made improvements from the 600 to the 650. I agree -- there is always room for improvement with the GUI.

Video chat.:D That would sweet. And the data package would be $89.99.

Is it safe to say that we'll see Sprint carry the new Treo first? I'm with Cingular now -- but rollover minutes be damned... I'm jumping when it comes.

Not to stray too far off-topic: but I am so on the fence about which carrier to go with. I have been drooling over a 650 for a while now, but just can't decide whom to give my hard-earned money. T-Mobile, my current carrier, does not work here at my new house. I am not under contract so looking to jump ship. As my cell is my only phone, walking around the block to get a signal is not acceptable. LOL.
Data package is not an option for me at present. I simply need a PDA/Phone combo. That's it. No justifiable need for getting online, especially given my current budget. Looking for best deal on phone and calling plan (no more than 1,000 min/mo). Suggestions?

To get back on-topic: while I like the suggestion of linking digi cams and the Treo, why not just make the cam on the Treo as good as current digi cams? I am always looking to carry less gear. ;)

Good point about vid chat. Data package prices would be thru the roof. :O

I'd settle for WiFi, but PalmOne's customers (the phone companies) won't let 'em make it.

I would think they would have to acknowledge the need for Wifi -- and ultimately, we are PalmOne's customers --- and I'd like WiFi.

    Default treo 700

...larger screen, 1 gb internal memory bumped up from 32 megs, allowing us to concentrate on other cards for features other than memory. Screen will adjust if you turn the treo sideways to accomodate spreadhsheets for example. Camera megapixels increased.
