Default Treo 700W Bluetooth / BMW

My 700W won't stay connected to my car. It connects, I put in the code, the car recognizes the Treo. I make a call using the car and after a minute, the Bluetooth gets dropped. The phone signal works fine. Same thing happens with an incoming call. The car worked well with my old Cingular RAZR. (Treo says that the 700W does not support downloading the phone book - :mad Anybody have a clue what's up - should I just get another phone? thanks, Jeff

I can't find the thread right now, but someone else had a similar problem and they said that BMW bluetooth works well only with the phones it clearly states are compatible. other phones may work but aren't guaranteed just because they're bluetooth. call BMW and see if they may update their bluetooth system soon or if they even can. hope that helped

Here's a related thread where someone has the 650 working with a 325i. There was another thread discussing BMW's, but I cannot seem to locate it.

While never one to send people to other forums, there is an extensive discussion over at Bimmerfest regarding the Treo 650 and Bluetooth.

pssst... send people back here.

Hope this is helpful.

-Chris

Default Treo 700w & BMW BT/Assist Module

Hi,
Are there any success stories with Pairing a Treo 700w (Verizon) with BMW BlueTooth/BMW Assist module. I have a 04 X5 4.8is. I am planning to upgrade my BMW Assist Module to a 05 version of the BT/Assist Module. I would hate to spend $3000 in it only to find out that the pairing does not work. If the story is, it does not work, I would rather buy the Blue tooth handsfree module for $200 on the site and use that inside the car.

I spoke with Palm and they said, they wont come with any more updater for Treo 700w relating to Blue tooth like they did with Treo 650. I spoke with Verizon who has softwares that work with Visteon (OEM Manufacturer of BT Module for many cars) and Verizon said it would be Palm or BMW. I checked with BMW and the customer service representative has no idea what they will come out next. I tried to contact Visteon and they would not pick up the phone or answer. So, I am looking for some success stories outside so that I can install this module and make it work.

Please let me know.
Thanks
Laxmi

More discussion over at Bimmerfest on the Treo 700w. Sounds like it "kinda works".

Default Connectivity for 700W & '05 BMW M3

Last week, Treo released an OS upgrade for the 700W. It fixed all the wireless and PC sync issues I had with the 700W. It also seems to be working better with my 05 M3. No problems with sync and connections and redial, however I haven't been able to get favorites and my phonebook to upload - at least there is some progress. Anybody have similar/different experience with OS upgrade?
