Morpheus,
I'm certainly not trying to argumentative here, so please don't take offense, but the first two times I tried to connect my Treo 700wx or my Moto Q, it opened the 'sync' center and read the devices as "mp3" players. Then for some reason i uninstalled them, tried again, and it gave me a pop up to download the Mobile Device Center, which I did. It then started recognizing them as phones. yesterday when i tried to sync the 700wx, it took forever. Today, after following your link, I installed the driver updates, which is what your link took me too, and it sync's in seconds.
Thanks just my experience. Bottom line, it worked for me, and I'm sync'd and ready to go.
I'm having some difficulty with errors, because I have the phone set to sync to my email server "as items arrive" and if it's doing that while the sync center is trying to sync the other things like calendar, contacts, etc, I get an error that the server is busy.
Also, I've noticed that when I connect the phone either bluetooth or usb, it uses the "sync" center to syncronize, and I have to manually open the Mobile Device Center if I want to see it. Not that I need to see it, but I thought the Sync Center was replaced by the MDC, but apparently they both coexist peacefully.
Now, the next issue I'm going to face, i have the upgrade to Office 2007. Will this work without trouble for Sync, or will I have to start the whole process over again?
I'm moving from Office 2003 to 2007, when I have the courage! :-)
