Default Treo 700wx vs. Blackberry World Phone

Hmm...so I went into Verizon the other day and saw the Blackberry world phone. It intrigued me, so I played with it a little bit and noticed it was pretty damn easy to use. Granted I only spent a fleeting minute with it, I was still pretty impressed. So i asked two workers there (separately) which phone they liked better in terms of functionality, ease of use, etc...and after admitting they've used both phones, they said the blackberry. Reasons were efficiency, functionality, better email connections and features, better tech support, equal or better web browsing, comparable apps, longer battery life, etc

Aside from the norm: no media player and no video/camera (of which i could care less) they seem about the same.

Also..I know the BB can't edit word, excel and pdf's...so aside from that also, what do you guys think? Anyone seen and/or used both phones??

Thanks for any replies

I would stay away from the Verizon 8830.. Verzon has disabled features that are native to the 8830 -- Specifically GPS. The At&T 8800 and the Sprint 8830 both have GPS; the Sprint phone is also 3G. The rumor is that VZW will be coming out with VZNavigator for the 8830 soon and will charge $10/mo for a service that you should get for free with the phone.

I have just switched from a treo 650 to a Blackberry 8300.
(I did this so that I could receive corporate e-mail and retain Bluetooth for my car on one device -- my employer disables Bluetooth on the treo, but allows Bluetooth voice, not data, on the Blackberry).

I like the treo better, but am happy to carry just one device.
I do really miss excel on the phone. I used it for, among other things, to track my gas millage.

Like palm OS, right now there are probably more 3rd party apps for windows than there are for the blackberry, though I thing the blackberry platform is catching up.

Ahhhh, gotcha. I didn't know that Verizon did that, but it makes sense being that they are pretty stingy and omnipotent. I also heard good things about the BB Curve...how it will have a media player. My 700wx doesn't have a GPS either, i just use Google Maps or the Yahoo driving directions...
