Treo 700wx weird problem

I have a treo 700wx. Some times when I am on the phone, and I get another call that I ignore, the phone will ding (like it has missed a call or a voicemail has been left). When it dings the screnn goes blank and the phone is muted. I have to hit the red button and the center button to turn off the call guard and get the screen back. I then have to hit mute and the mute again to undo the mute. Then I can heat the other person. This is irritating as heck. I have tried to duplicate this at home by calling myself and then calling myself again from another phones. I do it exactly the same each time and it does it some of the time and not others. Any idea what is going on? The phone is new and has been doing it since day 1. Do I need to just take it back and have them replace it?

soft reset, if that doesnt fix hard reset, sounds like a settings issue

This is a problem with many users of the Palm WX. You will discover many Palm users have this problem and they are working on fixing this problem. I heard that they have a difficult time recreating this situation because it doesn't occur every time.

We have 5 Treos in service at my company, and the owner's has this exact problem. Sometimes I can duplicate it, other times I cannot. But he is the only one with this issue. I have tried changing every setting I know of, soft resets, etc etc to no avail. Is getting the phone replaced the only fix here?
