Question Treo not vibrating when ringer turned on

I want my Treo set to vibrate when the ringer is turned on or off. I thought I had it set correctly for this by going to Sounds & Notifications in the Settings menu. Then in the Notifications tab I checked both of the vibrate boxes. Recently I noticed the phone is not vibrating with the ringer turned to "Off". Any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe we can try to see if this is hardware or software first then proceed to the correct settings.

With the ringer turned off and when you plug your phone into the charger, does the phone vibrate to signal the power cord attachment? If not, make sure you have enabled sounds for Events, Programs and Notifications in the Sounds tab.

If the phone still doesn't vibrate when attaching the power cord and after confirming settings above, the problem may be hardware related and a tech may need to take a look at it.

If the phone does vibrate with power cord attachment, let's go to Sounds & Notifications/Notifications tab and use the drop-down box to select Phone: Known Caller and ensure the Ring type "Ring" is selected plus the Vibrate when ringer switch off is checked. Use the drop-down box again to select Phone: Unknown Caller and use the same settings as for Known Caller. This should restore your vibrate with the ringer switched off.

Let us know if this solves the issue or if there are more circumstances you uncover in the process...good learning for all of us.

Hoss,

Tweaking the settings in Sounds & Notifications did it. Thanks for your help and Happy New Year.
