Treo Sync Error

Every time I try to Sync my Treo 700wx to my computer, I get the following error. I have tried over and over, but it keeps happening.
Does anyone know why I'm getting this error and how to fix it?
Please help.

I think my problem is worse.

when i connect, my phone loads up and gets ready as if its going to sync with my computer. but the error that pops up says something like

"You must have activesync version 4.1 or higher to sync this phone"

Doesn't exactly say that but i remember it said something like that. Anywho...that error is absurd because I've got activesync version 4.5!

However my brother in law connected his sprint htc mogul into my laptop and he synced up fine.


Could it be because i played with the USB switch--->under programs>USB Switch ? could that be the problem?

now i did a hard reset on my phone. and the same problem persists.

quite possibly u had 4.5 installed and later installed 4.0?. anyway...



1) uninstall AS.
2) find the RAPI.dll and CEUTIL.dll files in /windows/system32 ? i dunno there in windows system32 folder (i think) and delete them
3) after deleting the above 2 files THEN
4) reinstall AS.
