These specs have been floating around various sites. EV-DO is Verizon's high speed network that will enable broadband speeds on the new Treo 700.

The 1mpix is nice, but windows mobile?
I'm sorta ok w/windows on my desktop, but on my phone?
Hmmm...maybe not...
I better buy me a 650 before they stop stocking those suckers. :D

Don't worry the Palm Treo's will be around for quite some time and the T650 will be here for a while. WM on the phone is not as bad as everyone says, but its all about user preference.

I'm way confused - isn't "Palm" the hardware? Or is it also an OS too?
I'm having trouble understanding, beyond everything in the phone saying that it's "Windows" or "Microsoft" and I suppose everything possibly looking and being layed out differently, what the big difference or deal in the change is?

Palm has historically run the Palm OS on it's handhelds. So, if you bought a Palm device, you'd be running the Palm OS. This new Treo 700 is a Palm device, but it will be the first Palm device to run Windows Mobile 5 (which is a Microsoft product).

Gotcha.
Am I correctly under the impression that, at first, the 700w will only be available for service under Verizon?
