Turning Active Sync off?

Where is the setting that will allow me to disable Active Sync when my device is attached to the pc directly? What I dont understand is when I attach my 700wx to the palm cradle my device starts syncing automatically and continues all night long, is there a way I can turn this off or better is there a way I can initialize myself by pressing the button manually on the cradle itself?

The only easy thing I can think of is just plugging the power cord into the cradle - this is what I do at night. Charging but no sync.

There are a couple of things you can do. Open active sync and go to the file menu. Open file menu and go to connection settings. From there you can disable connection settings entirely or you can un-check the Open active sync when my device connects box. Either way will keep it from continuously syncing.
