Default TXT message all come from '6245'?

Im a sysadmin and have a monitoring system setup to send page messages to my Verizon @vtext.com address in order to receive them as text messages.

With my previous LG phone it worked very well: the messages would show up correctly from the email address they were sent from.

The 700w shows all text messages as coming from a phone number '6245'?!?

Anyone else noticed behaviour like this?

Is there any type of Microsoft/Veriozon/Palm bug submission for Window mobile so I might have a chance of getting this looked at/fixed?

    Default this is standard behaviour?!?

I did a bit more searching and I am finding out that this is intended bahaviour?!?

Also: In order to send a txt message to an email address you have to send it to '6245' and put the destination email address as the first line?!?

Thats *totally* stupid.. Why cant the software see that the target # is actually an email address and do this for you?

And this means I also cant send a txt message to a contact which only has an email address, have the phone look it up and do this automatically.

    My LG vx7000 did this..
